Hours: Full and Part Time Considered
Salary: £30,000 - £35,000
Our client is seeking to appoint a Student Welfare Officer to its existing faculty team
Overview for the Student Welfare Officer:
-provide welfare and pastoral support to students
-support students with disabilities and long term health conditions
-provide initial well-being assessments
-identify safeguarding concerns and refer appropriately
-work proactively with students at risk of withdrawal
-manage a caseload of student welfare cases
-develop and deliver workshops and presentations
-maintain accurate student welfare records
Personal requirements for the Student Welfare Officer:
-Degree in Health, Psychology, Counselling or similar
-Diploma in Counselling, Student Welfare or similar
-at least two years in a student support role
-experience gained in further education
-knowledge of safeguarding legislation
-superb communication skills
-well organised
-knowledge of mental health issues affecting students in higher education
