Construction Buyer - Commercial Construction, Refurbishment & Fit-out Projects
Location: West Yorkshire
Salary: Competitive + Package
We are working on behalf of a well-established and financially secure construction business to recruit an experienced Construction Buyer to join their team.
This organisation specialises in delivering refurbishment, new build, and fit-out projects within the healthcare & education sectors, working with a strong portfolio of repeat clients across both private and public sectors. With a healthy order book and consistent growth, this is an excellent opportunity to join a stable and forward-thinking contractor.
The Role
As Buyer, you will play a key role in supporting the delivery of multiple live projects, ensuring materials and subcontract packages are procured efficiently, cost-effectively, and in line with project requirements.
Projects typically range from £500k to £2m, forming part of a wider portfolio of schemes across healthcare and related sectors.
Key Responsibilities
Procure materials and subcontract packages across multiple projects
Source, negotiate, and place orders with approved suppliers
Work closely with site and commercial teams to forecast requirements
Ensure procurement aligns with programme, cost, and quality expectations
Build and maintain strong supplier and subcontractor relationships
Monitor market trends and manage supply chain performance
Ensure compliance with relevant specifications and regulatory standards
Maintain accurate procurement records and reporting
Support value engineering and cost-saving initiatives
About You
Proven experience as a Buyer within the construction sector
Background in refurbishment, fit-out, or commercial build projects
Strong knowledge of construction materials and supply chains
Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
Confident negotiator with strong communication skills
Commercially aware with a proactive and organised approach
