The role:
You'll join a specialist engineering team delivering systems engineering and network communications expertise across advanced defence programmes. Work will focus on complex, mission-critical systems, with involvement in areas such as:
Network-enabled capabilities
Platform and vehicle communications
Tactical and battlefield networks
Inter-system / weapon communicationsYou'll operate within multi-disciplinary teams, contributing to the design, integration, and delivery of highly technical solutions. Depending on experience, you may take ownership of specific work packages, coordinate across technical teams, and engage with key stakeholders across engineering and delivery functions.
The role offers exposure to cutting-edge communications technologies, along with structured development in systems engineering, core networking, and specialist areas such as SATCOM, network modelling, and virtualised network functions. There is also opportunity to support team leadership and mentor junior engineers.
What we're looking for:
Degree in engineering or equivalent experience
Background in systems engineering
Experience within network communicationsAdditional experience in leading technical work packages, integrating complex systems, or working closely with customers and suppliers would be beneficial.
Salary: circa £60,000 (dependent on experience)
Working pattern: hybrid model with 2-3 days on-site required due to project classification
Security: applicants must be eligible for UK security clearance (British citizen or dual national with UK citizenship). Pre-employment checks will include BPSS clearance.
