Owen Daniels are supporting a well-established and growing manufacturing business, is seeking an experienced Quality Inspector to join their quality team. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented individual with a strong manufacturing background and experience interpreting engineering drawings and GD&T.
The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring products meet customer specifications and internal quality standards, working closely with production and engineering teams to maintain the highest levels of quality.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out first-off, in-process and final inspection of manufactured components.
Inspect parts using a range of manual measuring equipment including verniers, micrometers, height gauges and gauges.
Interpret engineering drawings, specifications and quality documentation.
Apply Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) principles during inspection activities.
Record inspection results and maintain accurate quality documentation.
Identify and report non-conformances, supporting root cause investigations and corrective actions.
Work closely with production and engineering teams to resolve quality issues.
Ensure compliance with company quality procedures and relevant industry standards.
Support continuous improvement initiatives across the manufacturing process.Requirements
Previous experience working as a Quality Inspector within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
Strong understanding and practical application of GD&T.
Ability to confidently read and interpret complex engineering drawings.
Experience using a variety of manual inspection and measuring equipment.
Good attention to detail with a methodical approach to inspection.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
Competent with inspection records and quality documentation.Desirable Skills
Experience inspecting welded fabrications or welded assemblies would be advantageous but is not essential.
Knowledge of welding processes and weld inspection would be beneficial.
Experience with CMM equipment or programming would be an advantage.
Familiarity with ISO 9001 quality systems.What's on Offer
