Job Advertisement: Health & Safety Consultant
Join a dynamic Risk Management team as a Health & Safety Consultant.
We are currently recruiting for an experienced and ambitious Health & Safety Consultant. The purpose of the role is to provide Health & Safety Consultancy primarily within the following sectors (but not restricted to):
Automotive
Engineering & Manufacturing
Haulage & Distribution
Retail & Commercial
You will be responsible for covering Essex and surrounding areas. Travelling to client sites is an integral part of this role and some overnight stays will be necessary.
This is a permanent, full-time position (5 days per week) and is client-facing.
Responsibilities
As a Health & Safety Consultant, you will:
* Work to an agreed “scope of work” and timescale with each client.
* Produce and review risk assessments, safe systems of work, method statements, policies, etc.
* Carry out site audits and inspections.
* Conduct accident investigations where required and assist with the preparation of a legal defence should this prove necessary.
* Maintain a good understanding of RIDDOR.
* Where applicable, operate our online Health and Safety Management System and help integrate the system for clients who use it.
* Deliver technical support to colleagues and clients.
* Represent the Company and client when dealing with enforcing authorities and insurance companies.
* When requested, undertake noise assessments, hand-arm vibration assessments, safe air testing, etc. (training will be provided).
Experience & Qualifications
To excel in this role, you’ll need:
* A minimum of a NEBOSH General Certificate and must be willing to work towards a Level 6 NVQ Diploma (or equivalent).
* Excellent documented Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
* Excellent report writing skills.
* Excellent understanding of current Health & Safety Legislation and standards.
* Meticulous attention to detail.
* A forward-thinking approach and capability to meet deadlines under pressure.
* A clean UK driving licence and own car (a car allowance is provided).
