Quality Engineer / Senior Quality Engineer

Kidderminster (Onsite role)
£35,000 - £55,000 + excellent bens.

This is an opportunity to play a pivotal role in ensuring the quality, compliance and continuous improvement of complex, safety-critical products manufactured for some of the most demanding applications in the world.

Working closely with production, engineering and supply chain teams, you'll be at the heart of driving operational quality performance, leading investigations, supporting product release activities, and implementing improvements that deliver measurable business impact.

What you'll be doing

Supporting production teams to achieve quality, delivery and performance objectives
Investigating non-conformances and leading root cause analysis activities using tools such as 8D, 5 Whys and Fishbone
Monitoring and reporting manufacturing quality KPIs, driving corrective and preventive actions
Conducting product audits and ensuring compliance with technical drawings, specifications and customer requirements
Supporting First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs) and quality documentation in accordance with EN9102
Leading Material Review Boards (MRBs) and supporting Delivery Review Boards (DRBs)
Acting as a key interface between manufacturing, engineering and supplier quality teams
Supporting internal and external audits, including EN9100 accreditation activities
Contributing to PFMEA, technical investigations and wider continuous improvement initiatives

Senior Quality Engineer responsibilities

For experienced candidates, the role offers the opportunity to:

Lead quality improvement projects across operational areas
Coach and mentor colleagues on quality best practice
Drive a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence
Act as a technical authority within the quality function
Provide leadership support and deputise for the Quality Team Leader when required

What we're looking for

HND, Degree or equivalent qualification in Engineering or a related technical discipline
Experience within a manufacturing, aerospace, defence, automotive or other highly regulated engineering environment
Strong understanding of quality tools and root cause methodologies
Ability to interpret engineering drawings and GD&T
Experience supporting audits, quality investigations and compliance activities
A proactive approach to problem solving and continuous improvement

Desirable experience

EN9100 auditing experience
Defence Standards (Def Stan) or AQAP knowledge
FAIR / AS9102 experience
PFMEA and structured problem-solving methodologies
CMM inspection or programming knowledge
Experience of QRQC, SQCDP or similar operational excellence tools
