We are seeking a resilient, compassionate and proactive Behaviour Mentor to join a dedicated team within a Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in Liverpool. This is a highly rewarding role supporting young people who may face barriers to learning due to social, emotional, behavioural or additional needs.
The successful candidate will play a key role in helping students re-engage with education, develop positive behaviours, and build the confidence and skills needed to succeed both in school and beyond.
We are looking for someone who can:
* Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils who may be disengaged from education
* Provide 1:1 and small group behaviour and emotional support
* Implement behaviour strategies in line with school policy
* Support de-escalation and positive intervention techniques
* Work closely with teaching staff, SENCOs and external agencies
* Promote a safe, structured and supportive learning environment
The ideal candidate will:
* Have experience working with young people with challenging behaviour (school, youth work, care or similar settings)
* Be calm, patient and resilient under pressure
* Have strong communication and relationship-building skills
* Be committed to safeguarding and supporting vulnerable learners
* Be a positive role model for young people
