Title: Policy and Research Manager
Location: Cambridge (Hybrid)
Salary: £32,000 – £37,000
Contract: Full-Time, Permanent (part-time considered)
We are currently recruiting for a Policy and Research Manager to join a well-respected, not-for-profit organisation based in Cambridge. This is a full-time, permanent opportunity offering hybrid working and the chance to contribute to impactful research and policy development across the UK and Europe.
This role sits within a collaborative Policy and Engagement team and will play a key part in delivering research projects, producing sector insights, and engaging with a wide range of stakeholders including funders, policymakers, and international partners.
Main duties will include:
* Managing the delivery of multiple policy and research projects from inception through to completion
* Coordinating contributions to European projects and partnerships, including collaborative research initiatives
* Conducting evidence-based research, including desk research, surveys, and qualitative analysis
* Producing high-quality reports, briefings, and resources for a range of audiences
* Supporting the development of policy outputs for stakeholders across the research and higher education sectors
* Designing and facilitating engagement activities such as workshops, advisory groups, and events
* Building and maintaining strong relationships with external partners, both in the UK and internationally
* Representing the organisation externally, including at meetings, events, and industry forums
* Contributing to funding proposals, including research design and partner collaboration
The successful candidate will have:
* Experience working with universities or within the research or higher education sector (UK and/or Europe)
* A proven track record of managing multiple projects and delivering to deadlines
* Strong experience in research, including evidence reviews and data analysis
* Experience managing stakeholder relationships and working collaboratively with partners
* Excellent project management and organisational skills
* Strong qualitative research and analytical abilities
* Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to tailor content to different audiences
* Confident verbal communication skills, including presenting and facilitating discussions
* The ability to work both independently and as part of a team
* A proactive and professional approach, with the confidence to represent the organisation externally
Desirable experience includes:
* Experience working on European research projects or collaborative initiatives
* Experience developing resources such as toolkits, policy briefings, or reports
* Exposure to quantitative research methods or data analysis tools
* Experience contributing to funding bids or proposal development
* Knowledge of European research networks or additional language skills
