Location: Basildon, Essex
Rate: £13.03 per hour
Permanent | Full-time | 40 hours per week (rota-based)

We are recruiting Wake Night Support Workers to join our service in Basildon Essex supporting adults with learning disabilities, autism, and mental health needs. Whether you’re new to care or experienced, this is an opportunity to build a rewarding, long-term career - any truly make a difference!
About the Service – Glenroyd
Glenroyd is a registered residential care service made up of 8 bedrooms all with en-suites, supporting adults aged 18+ in a safe, structured, and supportive environment.
The ground floor and first floor are accessible by stairs. The rooms in the home for communal use are; large, bright and comfortable. There is a T.V and music lounge with ample seating, a dining area/quiet area, fully fitted kitchen a laundry room and a large garden. There are in addition a communal shower/bathroom on the ground floor and a communal bathroom on the first floor. The home also has an office that is located on the first floor.
The service promotes independence, choice, and wellbeing through tailored, person-centred support.sd
Service User Interests
The people we support enjoy a wide range of activities, and Support Workers play a vital role in enabling these experiences, including:
Arts and crafts
Days out such as Theme Parks, Meals out, Social activities, Christmas markets etc.
Holidays and short breaks
Walks in the local park and community
Cooking and baking to develop life skills
The Role
You will:
Deliver person-centred support in line with individual support plans
Assist with daily living skills and personal care where required
Promote independence, dignity, and wellbeing
Support activities, appointments, and community access
Maintain accurate records and work effectively as part of a team
Work a rota including evenings, weekends, bank holidays, and sleep-ins
Who We’re Looking For
We’re seeking people who are caring, patient, and respectful, with a positive and resilient approach. You should be confident working independently and within a team, have good communication skills, basic IT and written abilities, and be flexible and reliable.
No previous experience? No problem! If you have the passion, we’ll provide full training and a structured induction programme.
Requirements
Willingness to work towards Level 2 in Health and Social Care
Ability to work unsociable hours on a rota basis
Drivers desirable but not essential
Enhanced DBS required (paid for by CareTech)
