This is a rewarding opportunity to work with children and young people aged 10–17 who have offended or are at risk of entering the criminal justice system. You'll play a key role in delivering targeted interventions, helping young people make positive choices and reduce the risk of offending and anti-social behaviour.
* Job Title: Prevention Worker
* Location: Cardiff
* Pay: £16.62 per hour
* Contract: 3+ months
* Start Date: ASAP
As a Prevention Worker, you will:
* Undertake assessments of young people referred to the Youth Justice Prevention Team.
* Develop and deliver tailored intervention plans to address offending and anti-social behaviour.
* Build positive, supportive relationships with young people and their families.
* Work collaboratively with partner agencies to achieve the best outcomes.
* Participate in occasional evening and weekend work as required.
We're looking for someone who has:
* Experience working with vulnerable, disaffected or at-risk children and young people.
* Knowledge of the Youth Justice or Criminal Justice system.
* Understanding of restorative justice and restorative approaches.
* Experience completing assessments and delivering targeted intervention plans.
* Excellent communication, relationship-building and organisational skills.
* The ability to manage a varied caseload and work effectively within a multi-agency environment.
Essential Requirements
* Full UK driving licence.
* Access to a suitably insured vehicle.
* Willingness to undertake occasional evening and weekend work.
