An established engineering organisation is looking for an experienced Senior Structural Engineer to join its specialist team, delivering complex, one-off projects across the live entertainment, experiential and automated systems sectors.
This role suits a highly capable engineer who genuinely thrives on technical ownership — taking structural analysis and design from initial concept all the way through to final delivery. Working within a multidisciplinary environment, you'll apply strong analytical and problem-solving skills to develop safe, efficient and innovative solutions for dynamic, unconventional and bespoke structures.
Key Responsibilities

• Concept-to-delivery engineering — Translating conceptual ideas into robust, compliant engineering solutions
• Cross-functional collaboration — Working closely with design studios, project managers and manufacturing teams
• Technical communication — Presenting engineering results, risks and recommendations clearly and effectively
• Standards compliance — Ensuring designs meet relevant UK and international codes and standards
• Mentoring — Supporting junior engineers and contributing to team development
• External engagement — Liaising with external engineering partners and consultants
• Continuous improvement — Contributing to the development of engineering tools, processes and internal standards
• Design reviews — Taking part in technical discussions, design reviews and project meetings
What We're Looking For
• Degree in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering or a related discipline
• Significant experience in structural analysis and design, ideally involving complex or bespoke structures
• Strong understanding of stress, deflection, stability and dynamic behaviour
• Proficiency with structural analysis tools such as RISA-3D, SAP2000, Robot or similar
• Knowledge of Eurocodes, BS standards or equivalent international codes
• Experience designing with steel and aluminium; composites experience is a plus
• Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities
• Chartered Engineer (CEng) status, or working towards chartership, preferred
• Experience in entertainment engineering, temporary works, stage machinery or kinetic structures is advantageous
• Exposure to dynamic load cases and design-for-manufacture environments
• Experience mentoring junior engineers
Benefits
• Competitive pension scheme
• Life assurance (4× salary)
• Health cashback plan (dental, optical, etc.)
• Employee Assistance Programme
• Cycle to Work scheme
• Income protection / critical illness cover
• Optional private medical insurance
• 22 days annual leave (increasing with service) + UK bank holidays
