SEN Teaching Assistant (Personal Care Required) – September 2026

We are seeking a compassionate, dedicated and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive and inclusive school in Brent from September 2026.

This is a rewarding opportunity for an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant who is passionate about supporting children with additional needs. The successful candidate will work closely with pupils who require additional support, including providing personal care, helping them access learning and promoting their independence throughout the school day.

The Role

You will:

Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN).

*

Assist students with a range of additional needs, which may include Autism (ASC), ADHD, speech and language difficulties, physical disabilities and complex learning needs.

*

Provide personal care where required, including supporting pupils with toileting, hygiene and mobility needs while maintaining dignity and respect.

*

Support pupils in accessing the curriculum and achieving their individual learning goals.

*

Work closely with class teachers, the SENCO and external professionals to implement individual support plans.

*

Encourage positive behaviour, communication, social interaction and emotional wellbeing.

*

Maintain accurate records of pupil progress and support provided.

*

Promote a safe, inclusive and nurturing learning environment.

The Ideal Candidate

The successful applicant will have:

Previous experience working with children or young people with Special Educational Needs.

*

Essential experience providing personal care within an educational, care or support setting.

*

A patient, caring and empathetic approach.

*

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

*

The ability to remain calm, flexible and resilient in a busy school environment.

*

A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs to achieve their full potential.

*
