Technical Support Engineer | SC & NPPV3

Rate: £400-450/day
IR35: Inside IR35
Duration: Long-term programme (up to 4 years)
Location: South of England (fully on-site)
Shift Pattern: 4 days on/4 days off (7am-7pm/7pm-7am)
Clearance: Active transferable SC and NPPV3 required
Start: ASAP

Overview

We are supporting a consultancy partner delivering a long-term government programme and are looking for experienced Technical Support Engineer to join a highly secure operational support team.

This is a hands-on technical support role providing first and second-line support within a live production environment. You'll be responsible for managing incidents, resolving technical issues, supporting end users, and working closely with engineering teams to maintain the availability of critical systems.

What you'll be doing

  • Managing technical support incidents, requests and changes
  • Providing first and second-line technical support
  • Troubleshooting issues ranging from password resets through to server-related queries
  • Managing support queues and ensuring incidents are resolved within agreed timescales
  • Escalating complex issues to specialist engineering teams
  • Supporting software builds and rebuilds for desktops and laptops
  • Diagnosing hardware faults and carrying out hardware upgrades
  • Working closely with engineering, development and project teams
  • Delivering excellent customer service within a secure operational environment

Essential Experience

  • Experience within a Service Desk, Technical Support or 1st/2nd Line Support role
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Experience supporting Windows desktop and laptop environments
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Comfortable working within a fast-paced operational support environment
  • Active transferable SC and NPPV3 clearance
  • Minimum 5 years continuous UK residency

Contract Details

  • £400-450/day Inside IR35
  • Long-term programme with potential for up to 4 years
  • Fully on-site
  • 4 on/4 off rotating shift pattern (days and nights)
  • ASAP start
