We're seeking a Senior Natural Environment Officer to provide expert ecological advice on planning applications and help shape sustainable development across the borough. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a busy planning team where you'll play a key role in protecting and enhancing the natural environment.
The Role
Provide specialist ecological advice on planning applications.
Review ecological surveys, mitigation strategies and Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) submissions.
Advise planning officers, developers and key stakeholders on ecological matters.
Ensure developments comply with environmental legislation and planning policy.
Promote biodiversity enhancement through the planning process.About You
Previous experience working as an Ecologist or Natural Environment Officer within a local authority.
Proven experience commenting on planning applications.
Strong knowledge of ecology, wildlife legislation and planning policy.
Able to manage a varied caseload and communicate confidently with a range of stakeholders.If you have the local government ecology experience we're looking for and want to make a real impact on the planning process, we'd love to hear from you
