Are you passionate about supporting young people to overcome barriers and achieve their potential?

New Chapter Tuition is proud to be working exclusively with a specialist vocational education provision to recruit a Learning Mentor for a full-time, permanent role.

Supporting learners from KS3-KS5 with SEMH, ADHD, emotional and behavioural needs, and those who have experienced trauma, you'll use practical, vocational learning to help young people rebuild confidence, re-engage with education and develop the skills they need for further education, employment and life.

The Role

As a Learning Mentor, you will:

*

Support learners on a 1:1 basis and in small groups of up to 8.

*

Deliver engaging, practical vocational learning.

*

Build positive, trusting relationships with young people.

*

Support learners with SEMH, ADHD and SEND.

*

Use effective de-escalation and behaviour management strategies.

*

Create a calm, structured and inclusive learning environment.

*

Work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve positive learner outcomes.

About You

This role would particularly suit candidates with experience as a:

*

Learning Mentor

*

Behaviour Mentor

*

Teaching Assistant

*

Sports Coach

*

Youth Worker

*

Mechanic, Engineer or Vocational Instructor

*

Cadet Instructor or Alternative Provision Practitioner

You'll also have:

*

Experience supporting children and young people.

*

Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.

*

Experience supporting learners with SEMH, ADHD or challenging behaviour.

*

Strong de-escalation skills.

*

A trauma-informed, nurturing approach.

*

A genuine passion for improving outcomes for young people.
