Reporting into an experienced Planning Manager, you will be trusted to lead major schemes end-to-end, influence key stakeholders, and drive high-quality outcomes within a fast-paced Planning & Development environment. Your Role as Major Projects Officer:

Lead on complex major planning applications from validation through to decision
Drive PPA delivery and manage key project timelines and stakeholder expectations
Produce high-quality reports and present recommendations to Planning Committee
Act as lead officer in appeals, hearings and inquiries when required
Mentor junior planners and support wider service improvement initiativesYour previous experience as Major Projects Officer:

Strong background managing major planning applications within a Local Authority
Proven expertise in planning legislation and development management
Experience with pre-apps, committee reporting and appeals
Ability to influence stakeholders across developers, members and the public
RTPI membership (or working towards) with excellent written and verbal communicationThis Major Projects Officer role is perfectly suited to someone who thrives on complexity, enjoys high levels of responsibility, and wants to make a visible impact on major developments.
