Lead Analytics Engineer - Contract

Location: Hybrid (1 day/week in London)
Rate: £650-£700 per day (INSIDE IR35)
Contract Length: 3 Months

Overview

We're looking for a Lead Analytics Engineer to drive the design and delivery of scalable data models, pipelines, and analytics solutions. You'll sit between data engineering and analytics, enabling high-quality, trusted datasets for reporting and decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

Design and build scalable data models for analytics (e.g. star schema)
Develop and maintain data pipelines / transformations
Define and implement data standards, quality, and governance
Enable self-service analytics through well-structured datasets
Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business needs into data solutions
Lead best practice across modelling, documentation, and performance
Support and mentor analysts / engineers within the team

Skills & Experience

Strong SQL and data transformation experience (e.g. dbt or similar)
Proven experience building analytics layers / semantic models
Solid understanding of data modelling principles
Experience with cloud data platforms (Azure / Fabric preferred)
Strong Power BI or equivalent BI tooling
Experience working with stakeholders in a delivery-focused environmentDesirable:

Python or other scripting languages
Experience leading or mentoring teams
Exposure to modern data stack tooling
