We are working with an independent building services engineering consultancy providing mechanical, electrical, public health, and sustainability expertise across the UK and Europe. Founded in nearly 80 years ago, the firm supports clients throughout the lifecycle of buildings across sectors including commercial, healthcare, education, government, and residential, with a strong focus on technical excellence and sustainable design.to join our client's dynamic building services design team in Leeds. This position offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced professional to lead the mechanical design of complex building projects, predominantly in healthcare environments. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering innovative mechanical solutions, overseeing project calculations, producing detailed design drawings and specifications, and managing client relationships. As a senior team member, you will also mentor junior engineers and support project management activities, all within a forward-thinking organisation committed to sustainability and low energy initiatives.

Degree in Architectural Engineering, Building Services Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or similar; preferably Chartered or working towards chartership

Proven experience in mechanical building services design, especially within healthcare or specialised environments

Strong technical capability in designing complex ventilation systems and other mechanical installations

Familiarity with relevant British Standards, Building Regulations and energy efficiency standards

Ability to lead and coordinate multidisciplinary project teams and manage client relationships effectively

Excellent organisational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Good communication skills, with the ability to present technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
