Job Title: SEN Teacher (Ages 4-16) - Full-Time

Location: Knowsley, Liverpool

Contract Type: Full-Time, Term-Time Only

Role Overview

We are looking for a dedicated and experienced SEN Teacher to join a specialist school in Knowsley, Liverpool, supporting pupils aged 4-16 with a range of additional learning needs. This role involves delivering a broad, differentiated curriculum across a variety of subjects, ensuring every pupil has the opportunity to achieve their full potential in a nurturing and inclusive environment.

Key Responsibilities

Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons across core and foundation subjects
Teach pupils across both primary and secondary age ranges with diverse learning needs
Develop, implement, and review EHCP targets and personalised learning plans
Create a structured, supportive, and inclusive classroom environment
Assess, monitor, and report on pupil progress and attainment
Work collaboratively with Teaching Assistants, SENCOs, therapists, and external professionals
Support pupils' social, emotional, and behavioural development through positive relationship-building and effective behaviour strategies

Requirements

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or QTLS (essential)
Previous experience teaching pupils with Special Educational Needs
Strong understanding of a range of needs, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and speech, language and communication difficulties
Ability to deliver a broad curriculum and adapt teaching to meet individual learning needs
Excellent classroom management with a calm, patient, and nurturing approach
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one
