Are you a passionate and dedicated SEND Teacher looking for a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of children with additional needs?

Tradewind Recruitment is currently recruiting for a committed and enthusiastic SEND Teacher to join a welcoming and supportive SEN school in Burton on a full-time basis from September 2026 to cover a maternity leave.

This is an excellent opportunity to work within a specialist setting, supporting pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). The school prides itself on creating a nurturing, inclusive environment where every child is encouraged to achieve their full potential.

As the SEND Teacher, you will:

Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to meet individual learning needs
Create a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment
Support pupils with a range of SEND, including Autism (ASC), Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), and associated communication needs
Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists, and the wider school team
Monitor, assess, and record pupil progress, adapting teaching strategies where required
Build positive relationships with pupils, parents, and external professionals
Maintain high expectations for behaviour, wellbeing, and achievementTo be considered for this role, you will have:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised teaching qualification
Experience teaching pupils with Special Educational Needs, either in a mainstream or specialist setting
A patient, adaptable, and compassionate approach to teaching
Excellent classroom management and communication skills
A strong commitment to inclusive education and safeguarding
