About the client

ATA are supporting a large manufacturing group at one of their flagship sites in the East Peterborough area. The group who operates within the industrial sector have multiple sites across the UK, employ over 2000 staff and boast a portfolio of manufactured goods second to none. These goods are some of UKs most recognisable brands of which have become a staple part of the British construction market. The site has been a long-standing part of the community for a number of years and produces an iconic product.

This role would suit maintenance engineers that are of mechanical bias, who don’t mind getting their hands dirty, stuck in and who love the idea of proper engineering, working with tools to strip out big mechanical components.

About the role

As a maintenance engineer you will be responsible for completing planned preventative maintenance, reacting to breakdowns, and completing remedial repair work in a busy manufacturing environment. This would be on heavy and automated plant machinery, including, robotics, presses, hydraulics, rotating equipment and more.

Mechanical fault finding using various methods
Swapping mechanical components like for like & Stripping and rebuilding of mechanical components.
Maintaining hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
Welding and fabrication.
Utilising the Piranha CMMS.
The company are working towards making the site more efficient so are adopting LEAN manufacturing processes on site, therefor you will be involved project work and making production improvements to achieve TPM.

About you

To be considered for this maintenance engineer role you should be/have the following:

Experience working within a factory environment.
Strong mechanical knowledge
Be comfortable working in an industrial or heavy environment.
Strong knowledge of H&S
You should hold a recognised level 3 (or above) mechanical qualification city and guilds, NVQ, BTEC, HND, HNC.
