We're recruiting an Electrical Bias Multi-Skilled Engineer for a permanent night shift role within a leading Food FMCG manufacturing plant. This role is offering an excellent work-life balance with no weekend working and the opportunity to play a key role in maintaining a highly automated production environment.
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring maximum equipment uptime through proactive maintenance, rapid fault finding and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
* Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across production and packaging equipment.
* Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns, diagnosing and repairing electrical and mechanical faults.
* Perform fault finding on PLC-controlled machinery (fault finding only – programming experience beneficial but not essential).
* Support continuous improvement projects to enhance reliability, efficiency and plant performance.
* Ensure all maintenance activities are completed safely and in accordance with food manufacturing standards.
* Complete maintenance records accurately using the site's CMMS.
* Work collaboratively with production teams to minimise downtime and maximise productivity.
About You
We're looking for an engineer who has:
* Recognised engineering qualification (NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, HNC/HND or equivalent).
* Strong electrical fault-finding skills with good mechanical knowledge.
* Previous experience within a Food, FMCG, Packaging, Pharmaceutical or high-speed manufacturing environment.
* Experience working with conveyors, motors, drives, sensors, pneumatics and automated production equipment.
* A proactive approach with excellent problem-solving skills.
* The ability to work independently on permanent night shifts.
