MATLAB and Simulink Engineer | Automotive Tech | Wymondham | Up to £40k
Our client is a globally recognised leader in advanced simulation and software solutions, working with an international customer base at the forefront of vehicle innovation. They are looking to hire a MATLAB and Simulink Engineer to join their growing software and R&D team.
Within this role you will play a key role in developing and integrating software components that power next-generation automotive technologies.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with around 1–3 years of experience looking to develop their career within advanced engineering and simulation.
Key responsibilities include:
Design, develop, and maintain models using MATLAB / Simulink
Produce clean, robust, and maintainable code aligned with development standards
Take ownership of assigned components or features
Collaborate with modelling, integration, and systems engineers to deliver project milestones
Participate in code reviews and implement feedback
Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve software defects
Support integration, testing, and real-time simulation activities
Contribute to documentation and continuous improvement initiatives
Monitor progress and escalate risks or issues when required
Occasional travel to support integration or project activities
What are we looking for?
Essential
Degree (BSc or equivalent) in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
Experience using MATLAB / Simulink
Understanding of real-time systems
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Desirable
Automotive engineering experience or strong interest
Experience with Driver-in-the-Loop (DIL) simulators
Interest in vehicle dynamics, cars, or driving simulation
Knowledge of EtherCAT / TwinCAT (Beckhoff)
Exposure to simulation or control systems environments
