About the Role
Milton Keynes City Council is currently seeking an experienced Social Worker to join their Children in Care team. This is a rewarding opportunity to work in a stable, supportive team focused on achieving the best outcomes for children and young people in care.
Responsibilities
Chair multi-agency and multidisciplinary meetings
Complete statutory assessments and annual reviews
Develop and implement child-centred care plans
Manage a caseload of up to 18 children, including those under care and placement orders
Work collaboratively with professionals including IROs, health services, and education teams
Ensure children's needs are met through direct work, life story work, and ongoing placement supportAbout the Team
Stable and experienced leadership with a Team Manager and Deputy Manager
Collaborative structure including Senior Practitioners, Social Workers, and Social Work Assistants
Access to a Clinical Psychologist and Mental Health Worker for additional support
Strong focus on training, development, and shared learning through regular team sessions
Dedicated support for adoption work, including life story book creation Additional Benefits
Mileage paid at £0.45 per mile (eligible claims)
Discounted parking available via RingGo
Access to the same training as permanent staffRequirements
Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration
Recent Children in Care and adoption experience (within the last 5 years)
Strong assessment, care planning, and case management skills
