IT Project Manager Mainframe (Cobol/z/OS) - Full-time - 3 days Onsite Zurich - Start July 2026

For our client, we are looking for an experienced IT project manager with experience in Mainframe transformation projects as well as knowledge of the Cobol/z/OS environment.

The main task is to lead a transformation project to migrate a large Mainframe application from CA Gen to native Cobol and to introduce GitLab as a new code repository.

Responsibilities

• Management and coordination of all workstreams and deliverables
• Creation of the project management plan and definition of the project scope
• Stakeholder management and coordination of all project participants
• Project planning, progress control and status reporting
• Support for test, go-live and operational readiness topics

Requirements

• Several years of experience in IT project management of transformation projects
• Experience in the Cobol/Mainframe environment
• Knowledge of z/OS

Project details

• Start: July 2026
• Duration: 12 months (+ option to extend up to approx. 3 years)
• Occupancy: 4-5 days/week
• 3 days/week on site in Zurich
• Language: German
