SATCOM NOC Engineer
SATCOM NOC Support Engineer Herefordshire | 6-Month Contract | (Inside IR35)
We are looking for an experienced SATCOM NOC Support Engineer to join a leading telecommunications organisation supporting critical satellite communication services.
This is an initial 6-month contract with the potential for extension, working onsite as part of a 24/7 shift rotation.
The RoleYou'll be responsible for the monitoring, management and support of satellite communication platforms, providing first-line incident management and operational support across a range of business-critical services.
Working within a 24/7 Network Operations Centre, you'll investigate faults, restore services, coordinate with internal teams and customers, and ensure service availability across UK and global satellite networks.
Key Responsibilities- 24/7 monitoring and incident management of SATCOM platforms and managed services
- First-line fault diagnosis and resolution
- Incident reporting and customer communications
- Support disaster recovery and service restoration activities
- Monitor network performance and escalate issues where required
- Process customer service requests and bookings
- Liaise with internal engineering teams and external partners
- Support the operation of Earth Station equipment and satellite services
- Maintain accurate operational documentation and shift handovers
Essential Skills & Experience
- Previous experience within a Satellite Communications (SATCOM) environment (essential)
- Experience working within a Network Operations Centre (NOC)
- Incident and fault management experience
- Strong understanding of satellite communications technologies
- Experience supporting 24/7 operational environments
- Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills
- Ability to work a 24/7 shift rota
Experience supporting services such as TV Broadcast, VSAT, OneWeb, EGNOS, Avanti, Skylogic, SCPC or similar satellite platforms would be highly advantageous.
