We are looking for an MEP Design Manager to work on a Major Industrial Project in Somerset.
As the MEP Design Manager, you will be managing the design, coordination and delivery of all things MEP.

Key Responsibilities / Design Leadership
* Oversee design of critical systems including:
* LV/MV electrical distribution
* UPS systems and battery storage
*
* Cooling systems (CRAC/CRAH, chillers, liquid cooling where applicable)
* BMS and controls
* Fire detection and suppression systems
* Ensure compliance with Uptime Institute Tier standards (Tier II–IV) where applicable.
* Coordination & interface with CSA teams
* Manage design, drawings & specifications
* Working with specialist vendors (e.g., UPS, generators, cooling OEMs)
* Proactively manage & promote BIM / Clash detection
* Support procurement of key MEP packages:
* Electrical and mechanical subcontractors
* Specialist suppliers (UPS, chillers, generators)
* Review subcontractor designs and ensure alignment with employer’s requirements.
* Assess technical submissions during tender stage.
* Provide technical support during installation.
* Ensure compliance with: UK Building Regulations/ BSI standards (BS/EN)/ CIBSE guidelines / Uptime Institute Tier classifications
Key Skills & Experience Essential
* Degree in Building Services Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering / A clear background that shows loyalty , training & success
* Proven experience for a MEP Sub-Contractor or main contractor in a or D&B environment.
Software Skills Needed
BIM tools (Revit, Navisworks)
Load calculation and simulation tools
Microsoft Office (Excel for technical/commercial analysis)
