Maintenance Manager

Permanent | Full Time (Monday – Friday)
Salary: £55,000 - £65,000 + Excellent Benefits

The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Maintenance Manager to oversee the delivery of estates maintenance services within a large, complex healthcare environment. This position is responsible for ensuring the estate remains safe, compliant, and fully operational, while leading engineering teams and maintaining high service standards.

The successful candidate will play a key role in managing planned and reactive maintenance activities, supporting operational continuity, and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

* Lead the day-to-day delivery of mechanical, electrical, and building fabric maintenance services.

* Manage Engineering Team Leaders, Supervisors, and engineering staff, driving performance and maintaining high standards.

* Ensure all statutory, contractual, and compliance obligations are achieved, including KPIs and audit requirements.

* Build effective working relationships with clients, contractors, and key stakeholders to support service delivery.

* Produce asset condition reports and contribute to planned maintenance programmes and lifecycle planning.

* Develop, review, and test contingency procedures for critical engineering services.

* Support the senior management team by deputising where required and contributing to the overall management of the contract.

About You

To be successful in this role you should have:

* Previous experience managing maintenance operations within a PFI environment, ideally within healthcare or another critical facilities setting.

* Strong leadership experience within facilities management or building services.

* Sound technical knowledge across mechanical and electrical maintenance.

* The ability to analyse technical issues and implement practical, cost-effective solutions.

* Experience producing operational and financial reports for senior stakeholders.

* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
