Job Title: Fire Alarm Engineer
Location: Chelmsford & Romford
Company Overview
Our client is a well-established specialist within the fire protection and life safety sector, delivering high-quality engineering and maintenance services across commercial and residential properties.
Due to the recent award of a Housing Contract, covering schools and social housing across Chelmsford and Romford, they are looking to expand their engineering team with an experienced Fire Alarm Engineer.
Role Overview
The Fire Alarm Engineer will be responsible for carrying out routine servicing and maintenance of fire alarm systems, emergency lighting and AOV systems across schools and residential housing properties within the Delta Housing Contract. The role involves working independently across multiple sites, ensuring all systems remain compliant and fully operational.
Key Responsibilities
Routine servicing and maintenance of fire alarm, emergency lighting and AOV systems
Carrying out fault finding and minor remedial repairs
Completing service reports and documentation accurately
Liaising with clients and site representatives to provide technical support and updates
Ensuring compliance with British Standards and company procedures
Maintaining tools, equipment and company vehicle in good condition Key Requirements
Previous experience servicing and maintaining fire alarm systems
FIA training or equivalent certification preferred
Full UK driving licence
Strong understanding of current fire safety regulations and industry standards
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills Benefits

Stable workload on a long-term housing and education contract
