Data Modeller (Data Vault 2.0) | Investment Banking | PAYE

Location: Glasgow (Hybrid - 2 days onsite per week)

Duration: 6 months (Initial)

Status: PAYE

Engagement Overview

Following a series of strategic consultations with the Chief Data Office (CDO) regarding their data modernisation roadmap, we have been engaged to secure a Senior Data Modeller for a high-impact transformation programme.

The project focuses on the migration of Legacy infrastructure to a modern cloud data platform, specifically addressing the design and delivery of scalable data models for post-bind insurance data. This role is critical in ensuring regulatory alignment, financial reconciliation, and operational reporting accuracy across multiple specialty lines.

Core Responsibilities

  • Architectural Design: Lead the creation of conceptual, logical, and physical data models tailored for Snowflake ingestion.

  • Methodology Leadership: Apply Data Vault 2.0 principles to ensure robust auditability, lineage tracking, and enterprise scalability.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Data Architects, Business Analysts, and Actuarial teams to translate complex business requirements into structured data assets.

  • Domain Integration: Model data to support premium and claims reconciliation, aged debt tracking, and reserve movements.

  • Governance: Document metadata and data dictionaries to maintain strict compliance with banking regulatory standards.


Technical Requirements & Experience

  • Financial Services Expertise: Extensive experience as a Data Modeller within Investment Banking or the broader Financial Services market.

  • Technical Proficiency: Demonstrable expertise in Data Vault 2.0 and dimensional modelling techniques.

  • Platform Knowledge: Hands-on experience with Snowflake and cloud-native data architectures.

  • Specialty Lines: Ability to model across diverse sectors such as marine, aviation, and cyber insurance.

  • Stakeholder Management: Proven ability to engage with senior stakeholders across Finance, Operations, and the CDO.


Project Impact

The successful consultant will contribute to a broader data transformation initiative, ensuring the seamless integration of models into downstream analytics pipelines and driving measurable improvements in operational efficiency and regulatory reporting.
