Technical Architect
Your new company
You will be joining a leading organisation delivering critical financial services and digital transformation initiatives within a highly secure, government-aligned environment. Working through a major global technology partner, you'll contribute to a large-scale programme focused on modernising banking platforms and payment services.
Your new role
As a Technical Architect, you will play a key role in shaping and delivering complex architecture solutions across banking and financial services platforms. You'll be responsible for designing scalable, secure, and high-performing systems, with a particular focus on payment integration and modern cloud-native environments.
You will work closely with internal teams and third-party vendors to ensure seamless integration across platforms such as product accounting, risk, and financial crime systems. The role will involve defining architecture principles, driving best practice, and aligning solutions with regulatory and government frameworks including Open Banking and GOV.UK standards.
This is a predominantly remote role with occasional on-site meetings where required.
What you'll need to succeed
- Strong experience as a Technical Architect within banking or financial services
- Proven knowledge of Open Banking frameworks (eg CMA, PSD2) and government standards
- Expertise in microservices, APIs, and integration patterns, especially across payment rails (BACS, SEPA, Faster Payments)
- Experience working with third-party platforms such as product accounting, risk engines, and financial crime systems
- Strong understanding of both Legacy and cloud-based infrastructure (compute, networking, storage, databases, IAM, security, DR, etc.)
- Hands-on experience with modern DevOps and containerisation tools including Kubernetes, Docker, GitHub, Jenkins, Terraform, and Azure DevOps
- Familiarity with CI/CD tooling such as Maven, SonarQube, Argo CD, and Helm
- BPSS clearance (or eligibility)
What you'll get in return
- Fully remote working with minimal travel requirements
- Opportunity to work on a high-profile financial services transformation programme
- Access to cutting-edge technologies and modern architecture practices
- Long-term contract potential within a secure, enterprise environment
