Newcastle upon Tyne, Tyne & Wear, United Kingdom

Immediate Start
£36k - £40k Annual
Full-Time
We are seeking a detail-driven, forward-thinking Maintenance Plumber to join our permanent engineering team in Newcastle. Say goodbye to fighting traffic across the North East and running through endless domestic call-outs. This is a static commercial role, meaning you will be based permanently across a premium portfolio of modern commercial buildings, corporate hubs, and high-footfall facility assets right here in the city.
Key Responsibilities & Operational Impact
*
Commercial Systems Upkeep: Execute day-to-day reactive repairs, diagnostic fault-finding, and planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across high-pressure cold and hot water systems, drainage networks, and commercial building facilities.
*
Plant Room Operations: Monitor and maintain central heating arrays, booster sets, thermostatic mixing valves (TMVs), and large-scale mechanical pipework loops.
*
Compliance Testing: Take ownership of statutory safety logs, including routine Legionella water-hygiene monitoring and temperature tracking across the estate register.
What We Are Looking For
*
Qualifications: NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Plumbing and Heating (or equivalent time-served city & guilds plumbing credentials).
*
Experience: Proven track record working within commercial facilities, heavy industrial properties, social housing maintenance, or multi-site estate environments.
*
Mindset: A proactive problem solver who prioritizes Health & Safety, values accuracy, and takes pride in a "right first-time" approach to building fabric and asset care.
*
Technical Comfort: Comfortable reading mechanical layout drawings and working alongside broader electrical and HVAC engineering crews.
Why Join Us?
*
No Commute Stress: Static site framework based solely in Newcastle—your location stays consistent.
*
Fully Funded Upskilling: We map out an individual training budget for you from day one, covering high-value technical tickets, gas certifications, and renewables courses.
*
Defined Progression: A transparent career ladder that rewards technical skill and leadership growth, guiding you smoothly toward Senior or Supervisor status.
