HILLARYS COACHWORKS – Tunbridge Wells

HILLARYS COACHWORKS, a busy and well-established crash repair centre in Tunbridge wells, is looking for an experienced and skilled Panel Beater to join our growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual who takes pride in delivering high-quality workmanship and thrives in a fast-paced environment.

Working Hours:
Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm
Overtime available
Performance bonuses included

Salary:
£45,000 – £60,000 per year (depending on experience)

Role Overview

As a Panel Beater, you will be responsible for repairing and restoring damaged vehicles to manufacturer standards. You will work on a variety of vehicles, ensuring all repairs are completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.

Core Duties & Responsibilities

* Assess vehicle damage to determine repair or replacement requirements

* Repair panels by removing dents and reshaping metal using specialist tools

* Remove and replace damaged panels, ensuring precise alignment

* Carry out welding and joining using MIG brazing, spot welding, riveting, and bonding techniques

* Perform structural repairs using jigs and pulling systems

* Prepare surfaces for refinishing, including filling, sanding, and priming

Key Skills & Requirements

* Strong knowledge of vehicle body construction and repair techniques

* Experience working with materials such as steel and aluminium

* Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment

* High attention to detail with a focus on quality and accuracy

* Physically fit and able to carry out demanding, hands-on work

* Good problem-solving skills and ability to work efficiently

Qualifications & Experience

* Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Vehicle Body Repair (NVQ, City & Guilds, or equivalent) preferred

* Previous experience in a similar role within a body shop or accident repair centre

* Full UK driving licence preferred
