Senior Registered Nurse – Pre-Operative Assessment

Are you an experienced Pre-Operative Assessment Nurse looking for your next step?
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Registered Nurse with strong pre-assessment experience to join our Outpatients team at Clifton Park. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in ensuring patients are fully prepared, optimised, and safe for surgery within a high-performing independent hospital environment.
The Role
As a Senior Nurse within our Pre-Operative Assessment pathway, you will take the lead in delivering safe, effective, and patient-centred assessments.
You will:
Undertake comprehensive pre-operative assessments, identifying and managing clinical risks prior to surgery
Work closely with consultants, anaesthetists, and MDT colleagues to ensure patients are optimised for theatre
Support the development of pre-assessment processes and pathways to improve outcomes and efficiency
Provide leadership and clinical expertise within a fast-paced Outpatient environment
Ensure the highest standards of patient safety, dignity, and experience
This is a busy and rewarding role that requires strong clinical judgement, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
What You’ll Bring
Registered Nurse with valid NMC registration
Significant experience in Pre-Operative Assessment (essential)
Experience working as a Senior Staff Nurse (Outpatients or Pre-Assessment setting preferred)
Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills
Excellent communication and IT skills
Ability to work under pressure and prioritise effectively
A proactive, flexible approach with a positive, team-focused attitude
Evidence of continual professional development
Experience within independent healthcare is advantageous.
