Location: Kent (office + site travel)
Salary: £50,000 – £60,000 + package
Type: Permanent, Full-time

The Opportunity

We’re recruiting for an experienced Surveyor / Estimator to join a well-established contractor delivering heritage, restoration, and refurbishment projects across Kent and the South East.

This is a hybrid role combining both pre-construction estimating and commercial surveying responsibilities, offering involvement across the full project lifecycle.

Projects typically range from £250k to £5m and include:

* Listed building restorations

* High-end refurbishments

* Commercial and residential fit-outs

* Conservation and specialist works

You’ll play a key role in securing new work, managing project costs, and supporting delivery teams from pre-construction through to final account.

Key Responsibilities

* Prepare detailed cost estimates and tender submissions

* Analyse drawings, specifications, and scopes of work

* Carry out take-offs and produce Bills of Quantities (BoQs)

* Obtain and assess subcontractor and supplier quotations

* Support cost planning, budgeting, and financial reporting

* Monitor project costs, variations, and cash flow (post-contract)

* Identify risks, value engineering opportunities, and cost-saving solutions

* Attend site visits, client meetings, and tender interviews

* Support smooth handover to delivery teams and assist through to project completion
