Swindon, Wiltshire, United Kingdom

Immediate Start
£93 - £93 Annual
Temporary
An exciting opportunity has arisen to work in one of Swindon's secondary schools within their dedicated Autism Base. We are seeking a proactive, friendly, and supportive Teaching Assistant to work closely with students with autism, helping them access learning, develop confidence, and thrive within the school environment.
You will provide support both within the Autism Base and, where appropriate, in mainstream classroom settings, working alongside teachers and other support staff to meet students' individual needs. The role involves building positive relationships, promoting independence, and helping students develop their social, emotional, and academic skills.
This is a full-time role that would suit someone passionate about supporting young people, whether you are looking to gain experience in education, special educational needs (SEN), psychology, or are an experienced Teaching Assistant seeking a rewarding new challenge. Previous school experience is not essential; the school is looking for the right personality—someone who is patient, kind, approachable, and committed to helping students reach their full potential.
We are looking for someone who is:
Passionate about supporting young people with autism and additional needs
Patient, empathetic, and understanding
Confident in building positive relationships with students
Adaptable and able to respond to a range of learning and communication needs
An excellent communicator who can work effectively as part of a team
