About the Role

We are looking for an experienced, confident and passionate Nursery Manager to lead our friendly 60-place nursery in Romford. This is an exciting opportunity for a strong early years leader who can inspire a team, maintain high standards of care and education, and ensure every child is supported to thrive in a safe, nurturing and stimulating environment.

As Nursery Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the nursery, leading the staff team, supporting children's learning and development, building strong relationships with families, and ensuring full compliance with EYFS, safeguarding and Ofsted requirements.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Lead, manage and motivate the nursery team to deliver outstanding early years care and education.
Oversee the smooth day-to-day operation of the 60-place setting, ensuring high standards across all rooms.
Ensure full compliance with the EYFS statutory framework, safeguarding procedures, health and safety requirements and Ofsted standards.
Act as a strong role model, promoting a positive, professional and supportive team culture.
Manage staff rotas, ratios, performance, supervisions, appraisals and ongoing training needs.
Monitor the quality of teaching, learning and assessment, ensuring children make good progress.
Build positive relationships with parents, carers and external professionals.
Support occupancy, enquiries, show-rounds and the overall commercial performance of the nursery.
Maintain accurate records, policies and procedures in line with statutory and company requirements.
Promote a safe, inclusive and engaging environment where children feel secure, valued and inspired.

About You

Previous experience as a Nursery Manager, Deputy Manager or senior early years leader.
Minimum Level 3 childcare qualification, with higher qualifications desirable.
Strong knowledge of EYFS, safeguarding and Ofsted expectations.
Excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills.
A warm, approachable and professional manner with children, families and colleagues.
Confident managing a busy nursery environment, including staffing, compliance and parent partnerships.
A genuine passion for high-quality early years education and continuous improvement.
