We are working with a leading and innovative infrastructure contractor to assist them in hiring an Estimator for their growing team.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-respected organisation delivering essential projects across Scotland and the wider UK. The business is open to considering candidates from a Site Engineering background who are looking to transition into estimating, making this an excellent career development opportunity with full support from an experienced commercial team.
As the Estimator, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
* Preparing accurate cost estimates and tender submissions for a range of infrastructure projects
* Reviewing drawings, specifications and contract documents to identify project requirements
* Obtaining and analysing quotations from suppliers and subcontractors
* Working closely with operational and engineering teams to develop robust pricing strategies
* Identifying project risks, opportunities and value engineering solutions during the tender process
* Supporting handovers to delivery teams following successful contract awards
The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate:
* Previous experience in an estimating role, or a strong desire to move into estimating from a Site Engineering background
* A sound understanding of civil engineering or rail infrastructure projects
* Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
* Excellent communication and organisational abilities
* Relevant engineering qualifications, such as an HNC, HND or degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
