Advanced TRS - Senior Authorised Person (SAP) Opportunity

Advanced TRS is partnering with a leading Independent Connection Provider (ICP) operating across the UK electricity distribution sector to recruit experienced Senior Authorised Persons (SAPs) with current or previous IDNO/DNO authorisations.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing organisation delivering contestable network connections, substations, and infrastructure projects across LV, 11kV, and 33kV distribution networks.

The Opportunity

We are seeking technically competent and safety-focused SAPs who can take responsibility for the operation, control, commissioning, and energisation of electrical distribution assets while ensuring full compliance with Electrical Safety Rules and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

Undertake and manage HV/LV switching operations.
Prepare, review, and execute switching schedules.
Issue and control Permits to Work, Sanctions for Test, and Limitations of Access.
Lead commissioning and energisation activities on new network connections.
Apply and remove safety earths in accordance with approved procedures.
Coordinate operational activities with DNOs, IDNOs, clients, and project teams.
Support fault response, restoration activities, and planned outages.
Ensure compliance with NERS requirements, Electricity at Work Regulations, and company safety procedures.
Provide technical leadership and mentoring to operational teams.

Essential Requirements

Current or recently held Senior Authorised Person authorisation.
Experience operating on IDNO and/or DNO networks.
Strong understanding of HV distribution systems, switching operations, and network safety.
Experience within an ICP, IDNO, DNO, or utility contracting environment.
Ability to prepare and review complex switching programmes.
Full UK driving licence.

Desirable Experience

Authorisation up to 33kV.
NERS-related project experience.
Protection and commissioning experience.
Substation commissioning and energisation experience.
HNC/HND or Degree in Electrical Engineering.
EUSR SHEA Power, IOSH, SSSTS, or SMSTS qualifications.
