Senior Mechanical Maintenance Engineer | Mildenhall, Suffolk | £40,000 – £50,000 DOE
Our client is a specialist manufacturer based in Mildenhall, and they are looking for an experienced Senior Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join their team on a permanent basis.
The role
You will be responsible for the maintenance of production machinery, equipment and facilities. Working as part of a maintenance team, you will be a key point of contact for off-site contractors and visiting service engineers, and will be expected to contribute ideas for improvements and cost savings.
Day-to-day responsibilities include:
Diagnosing faults and carrying out mechanical repairs, including strip-downs and replacement of machine components
Maintaining production machinery, ancillary equipment and site facilities
Logging and updating maintenance tasks using maintenance management software
Supporting visiting service engineers and liaising with off-site contractors
Identifying opportunities for process improvements and cost reductions
What you'll need:
Strong proven experience in a maintenance role within a production environment, ideally on a 24/7 or shift basis
Strong mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience stripping down and repairing production machinery
Competent in welding and fabrication
Experience with a range of general workshop machinery and equipment
Self-motivated and disciplined, able to work independently and as part of a team
Strong communication skills and comfortable liaising at all levels
Flexible approach and willingness to work outside normal hours when required
