Behaviour Support Assistant - Woking

Mainstream Primary School

ASAP Start- Woking

Are you passionate about helping children overcome behavioural and learning challenges? Do you have the empathy, patience, and dedication to positively impact their school experience?

A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Woking is looking for a Behaviour Support Assistant to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone eager to support children with challenging behaviour and Special Educational Needs (SEND) in a nurturing, positive environment.

In this role, you'll work across Foundation Stage, Key Stage 1, and Key Stage 2, assisting pupils in managing their emotions, building positive relationships, and re-engaging with their learning.

Academics Ltd is seeking a caring, proactive individual with either experience or a keen interest in supporting children with behavioural or emotional needs. You'll provide both 1:1 and small group support, working closely with teachers and the wider school team to promote positive behaviour and emotional development.

Role Overview

* Behaviour Support Assistant

* Woking

* Mainstream Primary School

* ASAP Start

* £89- £100 per day (dependent on experience)

* Hours: Full-time, term-time only (8:30 am - 3:30 pm)

Key Responsibilities

* Provide 1:1 and small group support for children with behavioural and SEND needs, helping them regulate emotions and participate fully in class.

* Implement tailored behaviour management strategies to meet individual pupil needs.

* Collaborate with teachers to maintain a calm, structured, and inclusive learning environment.

* Support with de-escalation and proactive management of challenging behaviour.

* Work alongside the SENCO, teaching staff, and parents to create and review individualised support plans.

* Promote wellbeing and safety during lessons, breaktimes, and school activities.

Who We're Looking For

We're seeking a patient, empathetic, and adaptable individual who can respond calmly and positively in challenging situations. Experience supporting children with behavioural needs or within SEND settings is advantageous-but most importantly, you'll bring a genuine passion for helping young learners thrive.

This is a truly rewarding opportunity to make a lasting difference in the lives of children who need understanding, consistency, and care to reach their full potential. Apply now by submitting your CV!
