Long-Term HLTA Role – Staffordshire
Full-time role for the full academic year, starting in September
GB Recruitment are delighted to be working with a fantastic Staffordshire primary school to recruit a committed and enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant for a long-term, full-time, 5 days a week role.
This exciting opportunity is to start in September and will run for the full academic year. The successful candidate will work across Reception to Year 6, supporting learning throughout the school and leading targeted interventions to help pupils make strong progress.
About the Role
As the school’s HLTA, you will provide high-quality classroom cover and intervention support across the primary age range. All planning for class cover will be provided, allowing you to focus on delivering engaging lessons, maintaining positive learning routines, and supporting pupils effectively.
Key Responsibilities
* Work across Reception to Year 6, supporting pupils and staff throughout the school.
* Lead planned class cover across all year groups, including PPA cover, using resources and planning provided by the school.
* Deliver targeted interventions to support pupil progress.
* Support morning Literacy and Numeracy sessions.
* Deliver French and PSHE sessions using provided schemes of work.
* Promote positive behaviour, confidence, and engagement in learning.
* Work closely with teachers and school leaders to ensure continuity and consistency for pupils.
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for an experienced, confident, and adaptable HLTA who is passionate about making a positive difference in children’s education. You should be comfortable working across the full primary age range and confident leading learning when required.
* Must be a Level 5 or Level 6 Teaching Assistant or hold HLTA status.
* Previous experience in an HLTA role is desirable but not essential.
* Confidence delivering lessons and interventions across primary year groups.
* A positive, proactive, and flexible approach.
* Strong communication and behaviour management skills.
* A commitment to safeguarding and supporting every child to achieve their best.
