Waterjet Operator

£32,000–£34,000 | Permanent | Rotating Shifts: 06:00–14:00 / 14:00–22:00

A global engineering manufacturer working within the live events and specialist structures sector is looking to recruit a Waterjet Operator to join its production team.

The site delivers complex mechanical structures and assemblies for use in large‑scale installations and touring projects. This role sits within the machining function and focuses on the accurate cutting and preparation of components using waterjet equipment.

The Role

• Operating waterjet cutting machinery to produce components to specification

• Setting up jobs in line with drawings, work instructions and material requirements

• Loading and unloading materials safely

• Inspecting finished components to ensure accuracy and quality standards are met

• Carrying out basic machine maintenance and housekeeping

• Working closely with production and engineering teams to keep workflow moving

• Following health and safety procedures at all times

What We're Looking For

• Experience operating waterjet machinery or similar CNC/profile cutting equipment

• Ability to read and work from engineering drawings

• Good attention to detail and a strong sense of quality

• Comfortable working in a manufacturing or engineering environment

• Basic IT skills for job input and tracking

• Experience with metals or engineered materials is a plus

What's on Offer

• £32,000–£34,000 depending on experience

• Competitive pension with employer contribution

• Life assurance (4x salary)

• Medicash health cashback plan

• Employee Assistance Programme (24/7 support)

• Cycle to Work scheme

• Income protection / critical illness cover

• Optional private medical insurance

• 22 days annual leave, increasing with service

This is a permanent role within a well-established engineering business, offering genuine long-term stability and the chance to work on varied, project-based work rather than repetitive high-volume production.
