Manufacturing Operative (Cables)

Kinetic Manchester are looking for numerous Machine Minders to join a long established manufacturer in Blackley - a company with 120+ years of history and a reputation for building the infrastructure that keeps the UK moving.

Shifts rotate weekly: 06:00-14:00 and 14:00-22:00 - you must be able to work both.

What You'll Be Doing as the Cable Making Operative
*Keeping cable production lines running smoothly throughout your shift
*Making small machine adjustments to maintain performance
*Ensuring product quality meets required standards
*Spotting and reporting compliance issues
*Operating machinery following SOPs and process specs
*Completing production sheets (output, downtime, scrap)
*Carrying out 5S duties to keep the area organised
*Investigating process issues using data and SPC charts
*Setting up and safely starting production lines
*Completing safety checks
*Testing finished reels/drums and recording results
*Updating waste and scrap records

To be successful with this position we need you to meet the following criteria:
*Extrusion experience is a big advantage
*Able to work rotating early/late shifts consistently
*Strong practical skills and confidence with manual work
*Good communication and ability to follow instructions
*Comfortable working to routine and pace
*Health & safety awareness
*Flexible, enthusiastic, and a team player

Here are the important details for the next Manufacturing Operative:
*£12.71ph 1 - 12 weeks
*£16.39 per hour after 12 weeks' training (£31,971 Salary)
*37.5 hours per week (6-2 & 2-10 Rotating)
