Reading | Contract | Start 6th July 2026
We are looking for an experienced Site Manager with a Carpentry or Passive Fire background to oversee a Fire Door & Fire Alarm Replacement project in Reading.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established contractor delivering critical fire safety works within the education sector.
Project Details
Project: Fire Door & Fire Alarm Replacement
Location: Reading
Start Date: 6th July 2026
Duration: Until approximately October 2026
Working Hours:
* 4:00pm – 1:00am during term time
* Day shifts may be required during school holidays
The Role
You will be responsible for managing the delivery of fire door and fire alarm replacement works, ensuring the project is completed safely, on programme and to the required quality standards.
Key responsibilities include:
* Managing subcontractors and trades on site.
* Overseeing passive fire and carpentry works.
* Coordinating fire alarm installation activities.
* Ensuring health & safety compliance.
* Monitoring programme and quality of works.
* Liaising with the client and project team.
* Maintaining accurate site records and reporting progress.
Requirements
To be considered, you must have:
* Previous experience as a Site Manager.
* A strong Carpentry or Passive Fire background.
* Experience managing refurbishment or fire safety projects.
* Valid SMSTS, CSCS and First Aid certificates.
* Enhanced DBS (essential).
