Are you an experienced, electrically biased Maintenance Technician looking for a stable Monday–Friday role with no shifts or call-outs? We’re working closely with a well‑established manufacturing site in the Newport area that is expanding its maintenance capability and looking for someone who enjoys practical work in a planned‑maintenance environment.
This is a great opportunity to join a supportive engineering team where your skills will make a real impact.
You’ll be part of a wider maintenance team of around 16. The site is well‑organised, safety‑driven, and operates with a strong planned‑maintenance culture.
Your responsibilities will include:
Diagnosing and resolving instrumentation and electrical faults during plant issues
Installing, commissioning, and maintaining control and measurement systems (pressure, level, temperature etc.)
Calibrating instrumentation using modern tools and software
Working on hazardous‑area equipment in line with relevant regulations
Supporting electrical tasks such as 415V motor work, lighting, and cable management
Keeping accurate maintenance records and updating engineering drawings when required
The ideal candidate is practical, hands‑on, and enjoys being involved in day‑to‑day instrumentation work rather than high‑level engineering or design. You’ll be able to demonstrate the following experience:
A time‑served apprenticeship or qualification in electrical or instrumentation
Strong fault‑finding skills and a methodical approach
Hands‑on experience in an industrial, manufacturing, or process environment
A commitment to safe working and high‑quality standards
The ability to work independently and as part of a team
Experience with systems such as SAP or calibration software (training can be provided)

Monday–Friday days (8am–4pm), no shifts, no call‑outs
Stable, well‑run site with strong investment in maintenance
Planned‑maintenance environment rather than constant firefighting
