Document Controller – M&E Construction
Location: Leadenhall, London (Hybrid – Office & Site Based)
Salary: £45,000 - £55,000 + Travel Allowance, Private Healthcare, Annual Bonus, 25 Days Holiday + Bank Holidays
The Opportunity
We are working with a leading M&E contractor delivering high-profile commercial construction projects across Central London. Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Document Controller to join their project delivery team based in Leadenhall, supporting both office and live site operations.
This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented professional with 3-5 years' experience within the M&E construction sector who thrives in a fast-paced project environment and understands the importance of maintaining accurate project documentation throughout the construction lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and maintain all project documentation throughout the full project lifecycle.
Control the receipt, distribution and filing of technical documentation, drawings, specifications and project correspondence.
Ensure document control procedures comply with company and client standards.
Maintain document registers, revision histories and transmittals, ensuring all information is current and accurately recorded.
Coordinate document workflows between project teams, subcontractors, consultants and clients.
Issue revised drawings and documentation to site teams in a timely manner.
Support project managers and engineers with document management and reporting requirements.
Monitor document approvals and chase outstanding reviews where necessary.
Archive completed project documentation in line with company procedures.
Maintain confidentiality and accuracy across all project information.
Requirements
3-5 years' experience as a Document Controller within the M&E or Building Services sector.
Previous experience working on commercial construction projects.
Strong understanding of document control processes within live construction environments.
Proficient in document management systems such as Viewpoint, Asite, Aconex, Dalux, SharePoint or similar platforms.
Excellent organisational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work closely with multiple stakeholders.
Confident using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook.
Ability to prioritise workloads and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
