Head Chef | Spire Alexandra Hospital | Chatham | Full Time | Permanent
Spire Alexandra Hospital is looking for an experienced Head Chef to lead our catering team and deliver high-quality, freshly prepared food within a busy hospital setting.
You'll be responsible for the preparation and service of meals for patients, staff, consultants and visitors, ensuring consistently high standards of presentation, hygiene and customer service. Working across all areas of the kitchen, you'll support daily operations, special functions and tailored dietary requirements, while maintaining full compliance with food safety and health & safety standards.
At Spire Alexandra Hospital, we offer a comprehensive range of treatments to patients in Medway and the surrounding areas of Kent and the Southeast. Our private hospital has two extensively equipped operating theatres, backed up by an extended recovery unit with 24-hour support.
Duties and responsibilities:
Prepare and serve hot and cold meals in line with corporate standards
Maintain HACCP and health & safety compliance
Support service across the staff restaurant and patient catering
Assist with special functions and bespoke dietary needs
Check deliveries and maintain accurate records
Ensure a clean, safe and organised kitchen environment
Work collaboratively with the wider catering teamWhat we're looking for:
Experience in a busy, high-volume kitchen
Healthcare or restaurant-style catering experience preferred
Level 3 Food Safety qualification
Strong communication and customer service skills
Calm, organised and team-focused approachWhat we offer:
