Senior PCB Engineer
South Cambridge area | hybrid (3 days on site)
Up to £60k
I’m supporting a leading, innovation-driven engineering consultancy that develops advanced, sustainable and safety-critical technologies across commercial, industrial and defence sectors. Known for integrity and collaboration, they offer an environment where technical excellence and teamwork drive every project.
They’re now looking for a Senior PCB Design Engineer to play a pivotal role in transforming design concepts into high-quality, manufacturable boards. You’ll work closely with world-class RF, digital, power and analogue engineers, help strengthen supplier relationships, and contribute to enhancing PCB capability across the business.
Key Responsibilities:
Own PCB design from library creation through to complete PCB/PCBA delivery
Convert schematics into robust designs across RF, digital, analogue and power applications (mmWave/HDI beneficial)
Deliver designs to spec, timescale and ISO9001 quality standards
Manage libraries, BoMs and manufacturing data with strong DFM/DFA, SMT and IPC awareness
Use Altium for schematic capture and layout (Siemens PADS a bonus), including constraint management and impedance control
Collaborate with electronics and mechanical teams to solve complex design challenges
Work closely with suppliers on manufacturability, cost and lead times, maintaining strong relationships
Lead and present design reviews internally and externally
Drive continuous improvement in PCB processes, quality and delivery efficiency
Operate independently with strong problem-solving, communication and stakeholder management skills
On offer is clear career progression across technical, commercial or managerial paths, alongside hybrid working (three days on-site). You’ll be part of a friendly, inclusive team with regular social events, based in modern facilities just south of Cambridge with strong transport links.
If you're looking for a role where you can genuinely influence PCB capability, work with top-tier engineers and be part of an organisation that values its people as much as its technology - this is one to explore.
