Join a high-performing Buildings & Places team delivering some of the UK's most complex and high-profile projects.
This is an opportunity for an ambitious Quantity Surveyor to join a growing Cost & Commercial team in the North East, working across a diverse project portfolio spanning education, commercial, defence, industrial, and retail sectors.
We're looking for someone commercially astute, proactive, and relationship-driven - a Quantity Surveyor who combines technical capability with strong stakeholder management and a genuine desire to add value.
You'll play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered commercially successfully, with robust cost control, effective risk management, and clear reporting throughout the project lifecycle.

You'll support both pre- and post-contract delivery, working closely with clients, project teams, contractors, and internal stakeholders.
Key responsibilities include:

Managing project costs from feasibility through to final account
Producing accurate cost plans, estimates, and financial reporting
Monitoring budgets, forecasts, and commercial performance
Supporting procurement activities, including contractor evaluation and appointment
Administering contracts, managing variations, and ensuring contractual compliance
Identifying and mitigating commercial risk while driving value engineering opportunities
Supporting and mentoring junior team members
Building strong client relationships and contributing to successful project outcomes
We're keen to speak with Quantity Surveyors who bring both technical strength and commercial awareness.

You'll ideally have:

A BSc in Quantity Surveying or similar
Progress toward or achievement of Chartered status with RICS
Strong experience across pre- and post-contract QS duties
Working knowledge of JCT and NEC contracts
Good understanding of NRM / methods of measurement
